Q: I am handicapped and really want a boat. Can Ranger modify its boats to meet my needs?

Q: Can I get a special color on my boat?
A: You can select each color on your Comanche or Fisherman series boats. If there is a special color that we don't have in our offering, we can probably match it from a sample. See your dealer for specific color combinations and options. Top
Q: Can I buy a boat directly from Ranger?
A: Ranger Boats are only sold through authorized dealers. Several years ago, we elected to use a dealer network to distribute our products. It's a good system. Our dealers are independent business people just like many of our customers. Selling and servicing our products is their livelihood. To sell a boat directly to a retail customer would violate the trust and system that we have agreed to utilize.
From a customer's perspective, the network of authorized Ranger Dealers ensures that you can see a variety of models without driving to Flippin, Arkansas. If you want to order a Ranger Boat, your dealer can walk you through the process and send us the information we need to build your dream rig. Ranger Dealers provide service on your Ranger Boat and outboard motor. And when you are ready for your next Ranger, our dealers can usually help you trade in that pre-owned Ranger and start the process again. Top
Q: How can I get one of the great-looking Ranger jackets that I see everyone wearing?
A: CLICK HERE to check out the Ranger Wear section of the web site or just call 1-800-848-3411 to reach Ranger Wear. We'll gladly take your order or send you a catalog of the Ranger Wear clothing line and other Ranger accessories. Top
Q: How can I order parts and accessories?
A: You can order parts from your local Ranger Dealer. If for some reason you don't have access to a local dealer, Ranger can fill your order if you call 1-800-724-7273 and ask for the parts department. Parts sold through Ranger or an Authorized Ranger Dealer are sold at suggested retail prices. Top
Q: Why does Ranger build so many models?
A: Our extensive lineup of models is a direct result of our longstanding commitment to listen closely to our family of owners and dealers. As part of the Ranger family, your comments and suggestions are very important to us. Your input helps us to continually achieve a significant part of our mission, which is to build legendary fishing boats of Signature Quality. Top
Q: What kind of prop do you recommend for a particular boat?
A: Our engineering staff runs a lot of boats in order to know which props work best with each boat and motor. When we rig a boat, we match it with the best all-around prop for that motor and boat. If you modify a boat with a jackplate or other aftermarket equipment, you need to consider how that will affect the performance of the prop. You can call 1-870-453-2222 with specific questions about props and performance. Weight loads and saltwater use are other considerations that affect the performance of a prop. Top
Q: How well do Ranger Boats perform?
A: Ranger Boats are built to excel. It starts with design, and then construction--from our laminate schedule to RPM factory rigging. It translates to total performance--Holeshot, Mid-range, Top-end, Tight Turns, Dry Rides and Fishability. The result--you get to your favorite spots Quick, Dry, Confident and ready to fish from the best platform on the market. Top
Q: Which motor brand works best -- Evinrude®/Johnson®, Yamaha®, or Mercury®?
A: Each of these companies builds a fine motor. At Ranger, we rig new models with each brand in a variety of horsepowers. This lets us test each brand and horsepower and determine the rigging specifications. Those specifications then become the work instructions for our RPM factory rigging program. You should choose the motor you like best. Consider things such as performance, fuel economy and service availability. Most dealers carry more than one brand of motor and can help you in determining the motor best suited for your needs. Top
Q: What purpose does the integrated engine set-back serve?
A: Back the boat off the trailer and you notice smoother handling in reverse. From the take-off, the set-back creates less bow rise and quicker planing. On the top end, the integrated set-back gives you even better speed. And once you have arrived, no backwash over the transom. This doesn't mean the performance of a model without a set-back is compromised; it means that the set-back gives you a little bit more. Top
Q: Can my boat be rigged with a higher horsepower motor than the maximum rating?
A: No. Ranger adheres to United States Coast Guard regulations. Ranger does not recommend or endorse rigging a boat with a horsepower that exceeds the maximum recommendation. Rigging a boat with a motor in excess of the horsepower rating creates liability and insurance issues for the owner. Be safe--stay within the recommended horsepower range. Top
