FLW Fantasy Fishing payout to include over $1.7 million in cash, prizes during Wal-Mart FLW Tour including guaranteed $1 million cash grand prize

MINNEAPOLIS (December 13, 2007) FLW Outdoors is offering the largest fantasy sports payout in history with the introduction of FLW Fantasy Fishing.

FLW Fantasy Fishing is free to play. Participants can log on to to enter for their chance to land the catch of a lifetime with a guaranteed $1.7 million in cash prizes. In addition, thousands of participants will have the opportunity to win prizes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars including boats, vehicles, ATVs, personal watercrafts, gift cards and much more.

Participants can begin determining their fantasy fishing teams in January. The fantasy-fishing season kicks off Feb. 28, 2008, in conjunction with the beginning of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour on Lake Toho in Kissimmee, Fla. The season culminates Aug. 14-17 at the prestigious Forrest Wood Cup in Columbia, S.C.

"With the popularity and profile of professional angling on the rise and with the first-ever, recently awarded $1 million first-place payout at the 2007 Forrest Wood Cup, we knew it was time to give the public an opportunity to win as well," said Irwin Jacobs, chairman of FLW Outdoors. "We are forever raising the bar in fantasy sports by offering the highest payout with over $1.7 million in cash and prizes."

Consisting of seven events, FLW Fantasy Fishing mirrors the FLW Tour schedule that includes six regular-season tournaments and the Forrest Wood Cup.

Each lucrative tournament allows participants to create and rank their own pro angler team of 10 anglers they think will place the highest in the next FLW Tour event with the chance to win over $1.7 million in cash prizes, plus boats, vehicles, ATVs, personal watercrafts, gift cards and much more all building up to the championship tournament, the Forrest Wood Cup. Then, one lucky FLW Fantasy Fishing participant who earns the most cumulative points over the seven events will win a $1 million cash grand prize, guaranteed. FLW Fantasy Fishing also allows participants to set up their own leagues.

"Fantasy sports history will be made," said Jacobs. "Anyone could win and become the first-ever fantasy sports millionaire just by playing FLW Fantasy Fishing."

Participants can now win like professional anglers. Not only will participants have the chance to win the largest prize ever awarded in a fantasy sport, they'll also have the opportunity to win thousands of prizes from several of FLW Outdoors' great sponsors.

FLW Fantasy Fishing participants earn points based on their fantasy fishing team of ten anglers' placement finishes for each tournament on the FLW Tour. Each of the six regular-season tournaments will award $100,000 to the participant with the most points. Another $100,000 will go to the participant with the most points in the Forrest Wood Cup. The $1 million cash grand prize then goes to the cumulative-points winner over all six regular-season tournaments and the Forrest Wood Cup.
