Isom, Martin Win Second Ranger Owners Championship Series Event On Table Rock Lake

KIMBERLING CITY, MO (May 15, 2007) Ranger Owner Doyle Isom Jr. of Bourbon, Mo., and fishing partner Aaron Martin of Kimberling City, Mo., became the second winners of a Ranger Owners Tournament Series event on Saturday, ensuring them the chance to do something that has never been done before.

With a five-fish limit weighing 21 pounds, 3 ounces, Isom and Martin not only pocketed a $10,000 Ranger purchase certificate, they also qualified for the 2007 FLW Championship where the winner could walk away with professional fishing's largest payout: $1 million. This year marks the first that the FLW Championship winner will have a chance to win $1 million.

Also, as part of Isom and Martin's winnings, they will receive Ranger Boats apparel and an expense-paid trip to the FLW Championship from Ranger and will fish the event out of special 40th Anniversary boats.

"It's hard to believe we won," said Isom. "This is a dream come true for me; a truly unbelievable experience. FLW Outdoors is first class when it comes to fishing tournaments and I can't wait to experience the Forrest Wood Cup in Hot Springs."

The winning team targeted bass with shaky-head jigs in deeper water around channel swings and ledges.

The event drew 277 two-person teams from around the country, all fishing out of Ranger boats. In addition to the one-day tournament, which qualified the first- and second-place teams for the 2007 FLW Championship, owners and their families converged on the Port of Kimberling Marina to enjoy the fellowship of other Ranger owners during Friday night’s weekend kick-off event.

The weekend experience included a picnic-style barbeque dinner on Friday night, a welcome ceremony with appearances by Ranger founder Forrest L. Wood, Ranger president Randy Hopper, FLW Outdoors CEO Charlie Evans and legendary Ranger pros Hank Parker, Denny Brauer and Peter Thliveros. On Saturday, in addition to appearances by Guido and Dion Hibdon and Jimmy Houston, a fully rigged Ranger Z20 powered by a Yamaha outboard was given away to the team of Gary Niemi and Earl Ellerbee Jr. from Lake Placid, Fla.

The first Ranger Owners Tournament Series event from Kerr Lake will be televised on FSN (Fox Sports Net), Americana Outdoors and Versus at the following times (check local listings for additional air times):
