Washington Angler Wins Ranger Cup Honors At BASS Federation National Tournament

(May 6, 2004) Auburn, Wash. angler, Jeff Boyer, won a brand new Ranger 519VS bass boat and matching RangerTrail trailer as a result of his sixth place finish in the 2004 B.A.S.S. National Federation Championship held at Keystone Lake near Tulsa, Okla. Boyer captured the top prize in Ranger Boats' contingency program for Federation competition by placing the highest among Ranger Cup participants in the national tournament.

Boyer, who has been fishing professionally since 1985, says that the support Ranger Boats gives B.A.S.S. Federation organizations is vital to many anglers. "I think it's extremely important. It gives the guy who doesn't fish fulltime a real chance to put even more money in his pocket while competing out of a Ranger," Boyer commented. "When you look at the benefits from Ranger Cup, it's obvious that Ranger appreciates our investment in the company and they're willing to show that commitment in a significant way."

Boyer has also qualified for the 2004 Citgo Bassmasters Classic by winning the B.A.S.S. Federation's West Division. This will be Boyer's third trip to the Classic, having qualified through the Federation in 1985 and 1990. "Jeff has been with Ranger for almost 20 years and we're very proud of his accomplishments and how well he represents Federation anglers nationwide," Ranger Boats President Randy Hopper said. "Ranger has long supported the Federation organizations and we value that close relationship. These grassroots anglers are the foundation of our industry and we appreciate the strength, direction, and vision they continually bring to the sport of bass fishing.

Boyer, who owns his own sport fishing business and manages an asphalt paving business in addition to fishing professionally, has a special appreciation for the support he and other anglers have received from Ranger Boats.

"First of all, I wouldn't be in the Classic if it wasn't for the support of Ranger because they provide the platform for me to compete from," Boyer said. "I know they care about me as an individual, and not just the fact that I am a customer or the exposure value I can bring to them. It's more than business with the folks at Ranger."

Jeff Boyer is sponsored by Ranger Boats, Mercury Outboards, Shimano, Lowrance and MotorGuide.

Over $1.5 million in cash and prizes have been awarded to Ranger Cup participants the past 4 years. In addition to B.A.S.S. Federations, Ranger Cup programs are offered to anglers competing in the Wal-Mart FLW Tour and Citgo Bassmaster circuits, EverStart Series, Wal-Mart Bass Fishing Leagues, B.A.S.S. Opens, and RCL and PWT events.
