New for 2009: RANGER 208VX

Beefing up the 225-horsepower platform

FLIPPIN, AR (July 23, 2008) When it comes to bass fishing, perhaps no boat is more suited to the average day on the lake or a weekly team tournament than the 20-foot, 225-horsepower boat. With plenty of fishing space for two anglers and a wealth of storage for rods, reels and gear, this boat configuration has reliably served anglers across the country for decades. This year, however, the 20-foot class welcomes the introduction of the Ranger 208VX, bringing exceptional value and unmatched performance to the 225-horsepower platform.

The new 208VX is designed with stylish consoles, aluminum trim, an ultra-competitive hull design and an aggressive price point making it ideal for tournament anglers looking for the best-built 20-foot fishing platform for local and regional competitions.

Measuring 20 feet, 9 inches with a 92 ½-inch beam, the 208VX is rated for 225 horsepower giving it more than enough power to get anglers to the next hot spot in hurry. Balanced by a pair of 26-gallon fuel tanks, the 208VX is also capable of making long runs in search of winning fish while still getting teams back to the weigh in on time.

"For most anglers, fishing is a passion, something they do to reward themselves for a week of hard work. And when it's time to take part in their passion, they want to have the best equipment and get the most enjoyment out of the day," said Ranger Boats President, Randy Hopper. "With the 208VX, we've given these anglers all the performance, space and features they need to make the most of a day on the water and packaged it together at an incredible value."

When fishing, the 208VX provides the same kind of stability that Ranger owners demand, plus the front deck houses two rod lockers, holding rods 7 feet in the starboard rod locker and 8-foot rods in the port rod locker. The boat is available in both a single- and dual-console configuration and comes standard with either Lowrance or Humminbird electronics at the bow and console, a 24-volt Minn Kota trolling motor and on-board battery charger. Carpeted throughout, the spacious front deck has the option for a recessed foot pedal for even more comfort operating the trolling motor. A bike seat and pro pole come standard as well as an all-weather fold down, custom contoured bench seat, integrated cooler, boarding ladder and integrated tackle management system.

The 208 VX comes paired with its own custom-built RangerTrail® trailer. Designed to perfectly match the boat ensuring years of smooth and easy towing, the 208's trailer is equipped with Road Armor finish, L.E.D. lights and Ranger's COOL Hub® lubrication system as standard equipment. Designed and built in the same factory and to the same exacting specifications as all Ranger boats, RangerTrail® trailers are custom aligned with individually balanced wheels, feature swing-away tongues, swing jacks that retract flush to the frame as well as torsion axle suspension and locking.
