FLIPPIN, AR (June 16, 2008) In addition to being one of the few anglers to have won both the Forrest Wood Cup and the Bassmaster Classic, long-time Ranger Pro and professional bass fishing legend George Cochran became the newest member of the sport's $2 million career earnings club with his second-place finish in the recent FLW Tour stop on Arkansas' Beaver Lake.

With $2,018,279.80 in combined winnings from both FLW and BASS tour-level events in his 29-year career, Cochran is the ninth professional angler to eclipse the earnings milestone competing in the two tournament organizations. Cochran, who fishes exclusively in FLW events these days, joins fellow Ranger pros Denny Brauer, David Dudley and Peter Thliveros on the list.

Cochran, 58, is one of five professional anglers to claim world championships in both major tournament organizations – a rare accomplishment also claimed by fellow Ranger Pros Luke Clausen, David Fritts and Dion Hibdon. In addition to winning the Forrest Wood Cup in 2005, Cochran also captured the Bassmaster Classic title twice (1987, 1996).

“George is one of the true gentlemen of the sport and we're proud to have him associated with the Ranger Family,” said Ranger Boats President, Randy Hopper. “When Forrest and Nina Wood began looking for pros to serve as ambassadors for the brand, they placed a premium on character and looked for anglers who not only represented the brand well but who conducted their professional and family lives in a positive way. George continues to live up to that calling each and every year while competing at the highest levels.”

Cochran, from Hot Springs, Ark., reached the milestone with his $50,000 payday at Beaver Lake and will look to increase on his earnings total when the FLW Tour reaches Tennessee's Fort Loudon-Tellico on June 19.
