RANGER 2250SS RUNS LONG ON FEATURES, ACCOLADES
2008 Model Honored by Boating Life, Go Boating, Trailer Boats and moreFLIPPIN, AR (May 9, 2008) Since its release last summer, the Ranger 2250SS has made a name for itself by bringing the family back into the family boat. With deck boat characteristics on a proven bay boat hull and plenty of fishing features, the 2250SS has become the vessel of choice for saltwater and freshwater anglers, as well as families wanting to enjoy the boating lifestyle. Recent issues of Go Boating, Boating Life and Trailer Boats highlighted this do-it-all fishing boat for readers.
Most recently, the "2008 Editors' Picks" section of the May issue of Boating Life tabbed the Ranger 2250SS for inclusion among this year's top-ten boats with this glowing review: "We've seen deck boats with trolling motors and fish boats with tow pylons. But this is the first boat we've seen that is totally at home wearing either hat."
Touting the space, features, engineering and ease of maintenance of the 2250SS, Boating Life also wrote, "This crossover SUV carved a niche of its own, but with rod or ski rope in hand we felt we had the right rig under our feet for the job."
In the "Performance Tested" section of the April issue of Go Boating, the editorial staff described the 2250SS as a "bay boat on steroids," with a "fishing-boat alter ego." Noting the strong acceleration and respectable cruising speed that is faster than the average speed of both deck and fishing boats tested by the magazine this year, editors were also impressed by the fishing features of the vessel and the ease at which the 2250SS transforms into a family fun boat. Go Boating called the boat "great…for friends and family, as well."
The January issue of Trailer Boats also featured the 2250SS in a special "Excellence in Design" issue, highlighting the current-year models that have excelled in design and performance. In its review, Trailer Boats said, "form definitely follows function. If you're an angler who also needs to please the family, you may have found your boat."
The Ranger 2250SS is an entirely new concept in boats, fulfilling the needs of serious big-water anglers, big families and those who like to have fun on the water – all with one boat. Realizing that not everyone has the same goals for their time on the water, this vessel offers more space, more storage and more features than any other. In short, the Ranger 2250SS conforms to the interests and activities of those on board, instead of limiting the number of options available.
Measuring an expansive 22 feet, 6 inches, the 2250SS is rated for a maximum 250 horsepower and features a whopping 65 gallons of fuel capacity. The blend of power, size and fuel capacity make it perfectly suited for long weekends on big reservoirs, making long runs for inshore fishing or fishing open water. With a massive 101-inch beam, the 2250SS is an extremely stable fishing platform that delivers a smooth, dry ride, with room for several anglers on the front and back decks as well as along the gunnels. There's room for two optional fishing seats on both the forward and aft decks; the rear deck has room for the included ski tow, as well.
"We wanted a boat that fishes great and makes a great recreational boat, too," said Ranger Boats President, Randy Hopper. "It had to have real livewells, a proven bay boat hull and durable, low-maintenance components. The 2250SS can take the family bass fishing, catch tarpon or entertain the grandkids with no compromises."
